Database Recovery Services

Your database is down, deleted, or corrupted. A senior engineer works the problem with you — remote, anywhere in the U.S. — and tells you straight what can be recovered.

What happened?

Pick the closest match. Each page explains the warning signs, how we approach it, and what to avoid doing in the meantime.

    Emergency Database Recovery

Your production database is down, will not start, or is returning errors. A senior engineer works it live until service is back.

  • 02

    Deleted Data & DROP Recovery

Someone ran DELETE without a WHERE, dropped a table, or a bad UPDATE overwrote records. We restore the rows without rolling back everything else.

  • 03

    Database Corruption Repair

Checksum failures, damaged pages or broken indexes after a crash or storage fault. We salvage what is readable and rebuild what is not.

  • 04

    Failed Migration & Upgrade Rollback

A schema migration half-applied, a version upgrade failed, or a cloud move left data inconsistent. We get you to a known-good state.

  • 05

    Replication & Failover Recovery

Replication broke, a failover went wrong, or two nodes both think they are primary. We restore a single source of truth and rebuild redundancy.

  • 06

    Ransomware Database Restore

Your database server was encrypted or wiped. We find clean, uninfected backups and restore your data to fresh, hardened infrastructure.

  • 07

    Backup & Disaster-Recovery Audit

A fixed-scope review that restores your backups for real, measures how long recovery takes, and tells you exactly what would be lost today.

The first call

Most damage in a database emergency happens in the panic. The first call is about not making it worse.

  • Step 1

    You call

Describe what failed, when, and what the business is losing. We tell you on that call whether it fits.

  • Step 2

    Copy before change

We secure a copy of what exists. Nothing gets repaired until there is a way back.

  • Step 3

    Diagnosis

Logs, storage, backups, replicas and transaction logs — every recovery source, read first.

  • Step 4

    A straight answer

What is recoverable, the safest path, and an estimate in hours before the real work starts.

What we will tell you up front

  • We do: We tell you what can be recovered before you commit to hours.
  • We do: We work on a copy whenever the situation allows it.
  • We do: You get a written incident summary at the end.
  • We do not: We do not guarantee recovery. No honest engineer can.
  • We do not: We do not do physical hard-drive, RAID or phone lab recovery.
  • We do not: We do not decrypt ransomware or negotiate with attackers.

Before you call

How fast can someone start?

Call and we will tell you on that call when an engineer can start. The after-hours line runs 7 PM – 6 AM Central on a best-effort basis; there is no guaranteed response time outside a written agreement.

How is emergency work billed?

Hourly with a 2-hour minimum per incident. The rate is quoted on the phone before work starts. Planned audits are fixed scope.

Do you work on databases you did not set up?

Almost always. Most recovery calls involve systems someone else built. We read before we change anything.

Where are you located?

Wells Software Consulting is based in Chicago and works remotely with businesses anywhere in the United States.

Call before you run the repair tool.

Some built-in repair modes discard data to make a database consistent. Talk to an engineer first.
